Top tip: always test a new cleaning method on a hidden area of the chair first
Start by vacuuming your fabric chair. Mix baking soda with water until a paste is formed. Apple this paste to the fabric chair using a damp cloth and leave to sit for at least fifteen minutes.
Use a damp cloth to remove the paste and plot dry with a soft dry cloth. If possible, leave to air dry outdoors in the shade. Repeat process as required.
Top tip: vacuum fabric chairs weekly using a small attachment to remove the top layer of dust and dirt
As well as being nature's most powerful cleaner, white vinegar is an effective way to neutralise bad odours on fabric chairs.
Mix half a cup of white vinegar with half a cup of warm water. Use a soft cloth to gently wipe the fabric chair, focusing on any stains or marks.
Leave to sit for at least ten minutes before removing with a damp cloth. Repeat the process until any discolouration or marks have disappeared.
Mix four tablespoons of clear washing up liquid into a litre of warm water. Dampen a soft cloth into the solution and apply it onto the chair using circular motions until bubbles (also known as suds) form. Leave the solution to soak for ten minutes before scrubbing with a soft bristled brush.
Remove soapy residue using a wet cloth and dry with a soft, microfibre cloth. Repeat process as required, focusing on tough stains.
