Have you considered using white vinegar for cleaning your property? White vinegar is one of nature’s most powerful cleaners, it makes a great cleaner and disinfectant due to acetic acid. Acetic acid gives white vinegar its sour taste and strong smell and is often found in many household cleaners. By replacing shop-bought cleaning sprays with white vinegar, you can enjoy the cleaning benefits of acetic acid without the additional toxic chemicals! Discover how to start using white vinegar for cleaning below.

Using white vinegar for cleaning
Greasy stoves
The high acidity of white vinegar makes it a powerful tool for cutting through grease. Simply create a vinegar and water mixture and spray it onto your stovetop.
Leave to sit for at least 10 minutes and gently remove using a soft sponge and soapy water. If any residue remains, spray a little more vinegar onto the area and leave to work for another 10 minutes until thoroughly removed.
Coffee makers and kettles
As a nation of tea drinkers, many often forget to clean out coffee makers and kettles which can lead to mineral-build up that can impact the taste of hot drinks.
Using shop-bought kettle cleaners can also leave a bad taste in your mouth, which is why we recommend opting for a simple white vinegar method.
Pour half a cup of white vinegar and half a cup of warm water into the water reservoir of your coffee maker or directly into the kettle. Turn the coffee machine on, or boil the kettle, then rinse thoroughly with water.
Boil the kettle once again and rinse well with fresh water to remove any vinegar residue.
Top tip: spray a little white vinegar into a mug and scrub with washing up liquid to quickly remove any tea stains.
Fridge
Fridges can harbour germs and bacteria if not cleaned regularly. This can also lead to unpleasant smells that linger even after food has been thrown out. Fortunately, using white vinegar for cleaning the inside of your fridge will help to effectively remove any bad odours.
We recommend removing all shelves and drawers and washing them with washing up liquid and hot water (make sure that your fridge door is cold while you do this).
Create a cleaning solution of one-third cold water with two-thirds of white vinegar and add to a spray bottle. Spray this solution all over the inside of the fridge, focussing on any stubborn stains.
Leave the solution to work on stubborn stains for ten minutes before wiping down with a damp cloth. Buff away any wet areas using a dry microfibre cloth.
