Newcastle is a city and metropolitan borough located in Tyne and Wear. Located on the northern bank of the River Tyne, the city is the most populated in North East England.

The Victoria Tunnel was originally built to transport coal from Spital Tongues to the river and was in operated from 1842 to the 1860s. In 1939 it was converted into an air raid shelter to provide protection for thousands of citizens during World War 2.

First built in 1080 and later used for defensive purposes during the Roman times, Newcastle Castle is a medieval fortification that gave the city its name. The Keep is a Grade I listed building and a Scheduled Ancient Monument that can be visited today. The keep also has the main East Coast railway line running through its grounds.

Contrary to its name, The Biscuit Factory is the UK's largest independent commercial art, craft & design gallery housed in a former Victorian warehouse. The gallery is set over two floors and displays a range of fine art, sculpture, original prints and jewellery that can be purchased by visitors.
