Start by clearing out any out-of-date products and removing food that is starting to go off. Wipe down jars and containers to remove sticky residue.
Top tip: Take a picture of your fridge prior to removing the shelves to remember where the shelves go.
Leave the shelves on a countertop to warm up to room temperature before washing.
Vinegar is a key component when learning how to clean a fridge naturally. White vinegar is an effective way to remove bacteria and harmful odours without using chemicals.
Spray the inside of the fridge with white vinegar and leave to soak for fifteen minutes.
While it sits, wash the inside fridge compartments with warm water and washing up liquid before leaving to drip dry. Use a toothbrush to remove dirt from difficult corners.
Use a soft cloth to wipe down the inside of the fridge to dry thoroughly.
Tackle any stubborn food stains and marks with baking soda. Baking soda is a great way to effectively scrub away tough stains while also soaking in any odours.
Create a paste with baking soda and water and leave to sit on the stains for ten minutes. Once softened, wipe away with a soft damp cloth.
The high acidity of lemons makes them perfect for restoring a shine naturally in your fridge.
First microwave the lemon for ten seconds and then cut in half.
Use the lemon halves to scrub across the inside of the fridge to leave a pleasant smell and remove and build-up in the fridge seals.
Top tip:
wrap a knife in a soft cloth and dip oin white vinegar and a little lemon juice. Use the knife as a tool to remove gunk from the seals and repeat the process with a dry cloth until clean.
Do you have stubborn food stains on the outside of your fridge? Simply dab a little tomato sauce onto the stain and leave to sit. This will elevate the stain and make it easy to wipe away.
Create a soapy solution by mixing washing up liquid with warm water. Use a soft sponge to wipe away any dirt and grime. Always avoid using abrasive tools as this can leave marks and damage the surface.
Spray a little white vinegar onto a soft cloth and gently wipe down the exterior of the fridge.
