Top tip: Always blot, rather than rub, to remove a carpet stain to prevent rubbing the stain in deeper to the carpet fibres.
Baking soda is an effective way to naturally remove carpet stains. Particularly for greasy and oily stains, baking soda is a powerful tool to absorb stains.
Simply sprinkle baking soda over the carpet stain and leave to sit overnight. The baking soda will also remove any nasty smells.
Vacuum the baking soda the following day. Use a soft, damp cloth to blot away at any to remove any baking soda residue.
Always patch test the vinegar solution on a hidden area prior to tackling the stain.
Mix one cup of white vinegar with two cups of water in a spray bottle. Spray this solution over the carpet stain and leave to sit for five minutes.
Use a damp soft cloth to remove the white vinegar with warm water. Gently dab until the vinegar has been absorbed and the stain has been removed.
Cornflour and corn starch absorb grease and oils and help to remove carpet stains.
Sprinkle a thin layer of cornflour over the stain and leave overnight where possible. Vacuum the following day and repeat the process until the carpet stain has been removed.
