How to deep clean an air fryer
What you’ll need:
- Two soft microfibre cloths
- Washing up liquid
- Baking soda
- A soft bristle scrub brush
Deconstruct the air fryer
Follow the product’s manual instructions to safely deconstruct the air fryer. Soak the pan and basket in hot, soapy water and leave for ten minutes.
Remove food debris
Use a wooden toothpick to scrape away any stuck-on food. Then, use a soft bristle scrub brush to remove any remaining food on the air fryer basket.
Top tip: Create a paste using baking soda and warm water. Scrub this paste onto hard residue and remove with a soft brush.
Reassemble
Dry every part of the air fryer separately using a soft microfibre cloth. If possible, leave the parts to air dry for at least one hour to ensure that all moisture is removed.
Spray a little white vinegar onto the cloth and wipe down the exterior ensuring that all dust and food residue is fully removed.
Top tip: if you still notice any unpleasant odours, cut a lemon in half and scrub it on the grill to neutralise the smell.
Reassemble the air fryer following instructions on the manual if necessary.
