How to Clean a TV
Dry Cloth
First, take a soft, dry cloth and gently wipe off any dust from the TV screen. We recommend using a microfibre cloth.
Avoid pressing down too hard (as this could cause damage) and gently wipe in circular movements to remove any debris.
Use this dry cloth to remove any dust from vents and wipe down your TV cabinet.
Stubborn Marks?
For any stubborn marks, dip your cloth into a weak mixture of water and washing up liquid. Never spray liquid directly onto the screen.
Apply a minimal amount of liquid to the cloth and gently rub away any stubborn stains.
Wipe over with a dry cloth to remove any moisture and possible swirls or stains from the liquid.
Top tip:
Avoid using a kitchen paper towel as this can scratch your TV screen.
Check the Back
Use your dry, soft cloth to gently remove any build-up of dust on wires and the back of the TV screen.
You could slightly dampen your cloth to collect large amounts of dust easily. Make sure to wipe with a soft, dry cloth afterwards to remove any moisture.
Remember the Remotes!
Now that you know how to clean a TV, don't forget these other essentials. Remote controls are handled often and can build up dirt and grime over time.
Prior to cleaning, remove all batteries.
Use a cotton bud and some rubbing alcohol (or a dip into a mixture of washing up liquid and water) to gently rub over the buttons, ensuring that no liquid enters the remote.
If necessary, use a toothpick to pick out any stubborn dirt between the buttons.
Wipe down the remote fully with a dry cloth to remove any excess moisture before putting the batteries back in.
